Hi,
I want to setup SQL AlwaysOn.
Resources:
SQL1
SQL2
For me it is unclear whether it is possible that SQL AlwaysOn can work with mulitple Instances per server. Each database should be placed in his own SQL instance.
Ex:
SQL1\ALWAYSON (Primary for DB1)
SQL2\ALWAYSON (Secondary for DB1)
SQL2\ALWAYSON (Primary for DB2)
SQL1\ALWAYSON (Secondary for DB2)
If I now want to have DB3 installed on a seperate instance and as primary on SQL2 and secondary on SQL1. Can this be done?
Will I have to create a second instance on both servers, like below?
SQL2\ALWAYSON-2 (Primary for DB3)
SQL1\ALWAYSON-2 (Secondary for DB3)
Replication Network:
For security purposes a seperate replication network can be configured. If we don't use a seperate network (VLAN) will you notice any performance issues on the management network?
Kr,
