I have an existing SQL 2012 FCI and am trying to install a standalone AlwaysOn replica on another node of the cluster. In keeping with MS recommendations I am using the same drive letter (M:) for the primary and the replica, but the installer fails on the DB Engine Configuration page with this error.
"Standalone SQL Server on WFC cluster cannot have files on shared disk locations."
What am I doing wrong. On the replica which I'm trying to install. M: is a local drive and not part of the cluster.
