Hi
Someone know some good documentations on how to actually restore a SQL server completely with a full file backup and a systemstate ?
I got a crash for someone I know and the restore went bad. After the restore the service SQL server was no longer starting (timeout in the service) and in the command prompt it was asking for model.mdf in a e:\ path (when the system never got a e:\)
For testing I did a share of the database dir and mapped it under e:, the sqlserver.exe was opening via the command prompt (cmd -> (same command as in the service)) with a lot of authentification error.
Like that;

Even if it was starting via the command prompt, it was not starting via the control panel->Services, and SMSS was of no use as I wasn't able to connect at all.
So, I re-installed completly the SQL and luckilly the customer got a scripted backup of the database, but in case there is no backup, no way with a full file backup with a system-state to restore ?
Maybe I did something wrong, but if someone know some tip let me know =)
Thanks
