We built a failover cluster (not AlwaysOn) last week (SQL 2012 SP2, Windows Server 2012 SP2, servers are virtualized in VMWare and use Nimble storage) and have run into an issue I've never experienced before. When the cluster is running on the node on which SQL Server was initially installed all is well. But when running on the second node, no outside connections can be made. There are no problems connecting when logged onto the virtual cluster server, but outside connections time out. I can remotely ping the virtual cluster name and IP successfully when it is not accepting connections. No solutions suggested by running internet searches for the issue. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
