Availability group is missing on one server.

Hello,

I have created 4 availability groups on a 4 nodes cluster. (Windows 2012\ SQL 2012EE) Everything is running fine for at least a year. It is the first cluster of total 12 clusters on this platform. They are all the same.

Today I discover that on one of the nodes a number of databases are restoring. I look further and when I check the status of the availability groups I notice that one availability group is gone. It is only missing on one server, on the other servers the availability group is running fine. On 3 servers SSMS shows me all 4 availability groups.

Failover cluster manager show that the availability group is still running fine on one of the nodes. No error message indicates that something is wrong with the cluster.

Do you have a suggestion how I can get the availability group back on the server the now shows 3 availability groups. Restarting the server does not solve the problem.

Lots of users are using the databases of this availability group. That makes it difficult to remove and recreate the availability group in a few minutes.

Best regards,

Erik
