We have a SQL server 2000 installed in our production env, suddenly one day morning, the Microsoft SQL Server service is not started in 'services.msc' list.
When checked SQL server log or Application log in Event viewer, i see below error like
18052 : Error: 9003, Severity: 20, State: 1
Also, i see a message in log file like, "cannot recover the master database ... exiting.".
After i searched for this issue from internet, i see comments / blogs , etc like master database file got corrupted which has to be either restored using any input CD software, or to rebuild the master database using some utilitites.
I seen a article like, rebuilding master DB once again using 'rebuildm.exe' feature, will fix this.
But when run rebuildm.exe, i see an message box like "There are no qualified maitainable instances available".
What could be the fixes for this, can someone help, we stuck in production now.
Thanks,
Senthil.
