Control the time and/or amount of data for AAG Asynchronous Replication

I need to find out some information on how SQL 2012 AAG Asynchronous Replication works between primary and fail-over data centers.

More specifically the following questions:

1. What is the compression rate for the Asynchronous Replication?
2. Is there encryption for data in flight with Asynchronous or Synchronous Replication? 
3. Is there control for the time and/or amount of data being replicated Asynchronously between the data centers?
