We have a SQL 2012 DB which is 150GB. We are currently using Storage Guardian cloud backups for our environment which uses VSS. For this particular DB the backup time exceeds 14 hours. We have many other DB's on SQL 2012, 2014, 2008 and 2005, all of which take considerable less time. 10 of the DB's are on the same server as the affected DB. The server has a 10GB card and a fast Internet connection at 50Mbps.
We have added a local drive to the SQL server to be used for these VSS snaphots hoping it would help the situation. We have also changed the time of day when the backup happens so not to conflict with other backups or high user load on the server. Nothing seems to help.
Also to note, a SQL native backup of the same DB will take 10 minutes to complete.
Any thoughts on how to track down the issues affecting the backups of this DB and the length of time it is taking?
