Will SQL HADR Availability Group supports 5 database servers at different locations as primary server and a common database server as a secondary in a different location? . I.e Each location will have a database hosted in a server instance and as a HA the redundant database is hosted in another common location in a single server instance for all the sites. All the six locations ( 5 primary database server location and 1 secondary database server) is connected through High speed network.
1. Will SQL HADR supports this type of architecture?
2. What happens when network is broken between each site and the secondary server and with other site? Will the site server act as primary server or WSFC will fail since the quorom has one vote in each server?
3. We want the location servers to run as primary when it is available , irrespective of the secondary database available and other site server availability.
4. I hope using database mirroring will support this when we configure the witness server as one more site server for each location. But database mirroring will get removed in the future release version as per Microsoft.
