Hi Team,
We have 3 node SQL failover cluster running on WSFC extended to DR site. 3rd node is in DR site.
Idea is to use HA with DR.
Primary site have 2 node failover cluster running SQL multiple instance with shared storage. 3rd node will be in DR running standalone multiple failover instances with dedicated/independent storage (not shared). Our DR is still not ready. Is it possible to complete deployment of all DBs on node 1 and node 2 to HA working and running. Once we have DR site ready extend the WSFC to DR site (with node 3) and move to availability group (Primary secondary replication) for SQL DBs? Can we keep the availability group option disabled on SQL instances, complete all DB installations, once DR node available, enable Availability group on instances that will participate in Availability group replication and configure it?
Any need of enabling 'availability group' on SQL instance before installing DBs?
Any pointers will be appreciated.
