I have a new Win 2012 cluster with 2 instances of SQL 2012. One instance is running fine and has databases running. The second instance the SQL Server cluster resource fails to come online.
All other resources in the bad SQL cluster group are started fine. When you attempt to manually start SQL Server it give a failure error but no reason for the failure. I took a look at the cluster log from a period when we were attempting to start the SQL resource. I noticed a lot of Netname/RecheckConfig and DNS: end of slow operation. Here is a sample of what is in the cluster.log file. The DNS health checks are referencing a physical node and the cluster DTC resource (which is running fine).
Does this lead anyone to any reason for the resource failing?
