How to resume log shipping/mirroring after the secondary database was open

Hi All,

I have a tricky question to ask, one of our application will need to migrate from SQL2005 to SQL2008, the target server and SQL 2008 have been installed. To minimize downtime, we can setup log shipping/mirroring between 2005 and 2008. But the vendor wants to do some tests after log shipping/mirroring was established on SQL 2008. Here is his plan,

1. break/pause log shipping/mirroring between 2005 and 2008, make the secondary SQL 2008 database ABC open (restore database ABC with recovery).

2. Full backup ABC database

3. do some tests (DML) in ABC database

4. restore ABC from step2 backup.

5. Resume log shipping/mirroring between 2005 and 2008

But it did not work with "Error: Skipping log backup file because the log terminates at an LSN value that is too early to apply to the database" error.

Does anybody have other suggestions? I don't want to resetup log shipping/mirroring because it needs a couple of days.

Thanks

David
