I have a four node WSFC 2008r2 with many SQL FCI. The earliest version of my SQL FCIs is SQL 2008R2.
I intend to evict two out of four nodes from WSFC, format them, and rebuild them with the exact the same configuration, names etc, and add them back in the WSFC. Then I will Add all the SQL FCIs to the cluster one bye one, on both servers.
Is it necessary to remove each instance from each node via the Cluster Node Removal Process prior to evict them from WSFC?
