Hello,
I'm going to deploy MSSQL 2012 Failover Cluster with 2 or 3 nodes to host MS System Center 2012 SP1 Databases.
I have HP P6000 FC SAN and the hosts have FC HBAs. (HP FC2242SR 4GB)
My Questions:
1) My first Option was installing the nodes on a different hyper-v VMs on different physical hosts and connect with vSAN, but i think my HBA not supported so i cant connect them to my SAN using Hyper-v Virtual SAN.
Is there any possible way to deploy these nodes on a VMs without using vSAN ? i know some Pros may say use iSCSI instead or use physical server, but i still would use VM solution with better practices ..
2) What is the Disadvantages of installing MSSQL2012 and hosting the DBs on a VHDX (Fixed or Dynamic) or even Pass-through disks ?
3) Is there any different solutions to directly connect the hyper-v VM to a FC SAN Storage ?
Your Ideas and Suggestions are Appreciated
Many Thanks in advance.
