Is it possible to take the DB on Primary to Read-only mode after i suspend the data movement to secondary replica

We have an AG setup with Primary and secondary replica on same DC,  we are planning an migration from one DC to another and the DB size is close to 6 TB we are planning to take the DB Full backup SQL2012 and have it restored on destination SQL2016 as no recovery , and during the cut-over we will have the DB on Primary taken to read only mode ( initiate an DIFF and T-Log )

Since the SQL2012 DB is on AG setup, during cut-over we are planning to suspend the data movement to secondary and we are hoping this will allow the primary db to be taken to read only mode ? as under read-only mode the final diff and T-log backup that we take would be final data to be transferred !!

Has any one taken the DB to read only mode on primary side post suspend data movement ? Please advice if there is any documentation that says DB can be taken to read only mode if we have suspended the data movement ,  this would help us out in planning with our customer

Regards and Wishes

Eben
