AlwaysOn High Availability - Cannot Connect to Listener

Hello,

I have created an AlwaysOn high Availability Set and created a listener. The issue I am having is that I cannot connect to the listener when using SQL Server Management Studio. This does not work from the local SQL boxes or a remote box. I can resolve the listener name but cannot connect.

I have disabled the firewall to ensure that is not causing an issue and I have confirmed that I can connect to the SQL Instances using the SQL server names and it works ok.

The error I get is:

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

There is no associated error in the Windows event logs or SQL logs. I have searched for this error and not found anything useful so far.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Further Information: There are no errors in the cluster logs either.
