Replacing cluster node hardware

Hi,

I'm currently in the following situation:

(windows)cluster named: Cluster1

Currently: 2 nodes named nodeA and nodeB function as Cluster1 (SAN disks)

Step 1:     2 nodes named nodeC and nodeD will be added to Cluster1 (new nodes: SAN disks unattached)

Step 2:     NodeC and nodeD will be provided with the same SAN disks as nodeA en nodeB

Question: Do nodeC en nodeD understand that that they are NOT allowed to write to the SAN disks? Or will they claim the SAN disks immediatly?

The reason i'm asking is because the SQL administrator will migrating the databases from nodeA & nodeB to nodeC & nodeD. So I only want to provide the SQL administrator with the original cluster and 2 new nodes attached.

This cluster and nodeA & nodeB are in a production environment and there is no way these can encounter any downtime.
