I saw a few articles on TechNet which indicates that Availability groups are fully supported in azure, all you need is some hotfix and then configure a listener with an ip address which VMs from other cloud service could connect to. That's all great.
But if the clients of the Availability groups are on the same cloud service as the Availability groups, that is not possible because direct server return is only possible between cloud services and also because a VM cannot have two internal ip addresses.
Does Azure will ever going to support Availability groups listener within the same cloud service?
Right now my workaround is to use Failover Partner in the connection string, hence I can't take advantage of having multiple replicas.
