I'm in the process of evaluating SQL always on availability groups. Aside from replication, the one aspect I've been testing is failure scenarios. So far everything I'm concerned about causes a fail over except disk loss. It seems when I drop a disk from SQL it does absolutely nothing. The event log shows that it can't access the disk, but this does not cause a fail over.
My question, is is this expected behavior? if not, what should i be checking?
