we have SQL cluster in one of our customer environment, with SQL alwayson feature enabled. We have 2 node cluster with SQL role/resource configured on it. We have created a empty role and deleted immediately from failover cluster manager and found that existing (SQL) cluster resource was removed and always on availability groups are also deleted and databases went into recovery mode. after re-creating availability groups, the databases were up. but we are trying to find the root cause here. just adding\removing a empty role on the failover cluster manager will cause issues with SQL always on? we know that always on uses WSFC, but just deleting a empty role should not have caused this issue. we are suspecting some issues with always on configuration. Please help and suggest.
