We have windows 2012 r2 STD active passive cluster and sql server 2014 STD edition active passive cluster. Sql server system database and user database are on different cluster disk. Now we want to migrate user database from old disk to new cluster disk. But cluster disk drive letter will be same once database migrated to new storage. Old disk Will be unmounted.
For example if there is D: DRIVE where there is database. Now we take cluster offline. Copy database file to new disk E: DRIVE. Make cluster online. Then we will dettach database and remove cluster disk D: DRIVE and make D: DRIVE offline. Now
we will rename E: DRIVE as D: DRIVE and add to windows cluster disk and then to sql cluster disk.Then we will attach database to sql server
Will database become online because we want to change drive letter
