We have been testing a SQL cluster that is using a 2012 R2 guest HV cluster. The original plan was to use one disk that would store the system databases and all the user databases but I'm starting to think that is a bad idea. I think there should be a disk on each server that is used for the system databases and shared storage for the user databases. Basically, our systems group is saying that extending the vhdx would be impossible and the only option would be to create a new volume and move everything over.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
