Hi,
I was thinking on configuring AlwaysOn as follows:
SQLServerA, Inst1, Inst2, Inst3
SQLServerB, Inst1, Inst2,Inst3
FileShare Witness (this file share witness will be shared amongst multiple servers and availability groups)
Then having 3 availability groups (i.e. one for each instance).
After looking into this a little more, I've read that once you failover a database, the secondary is put into a suspend state and that an admin may need to configure WSFC quorum voting to reflect the new primary.
If I have a server with multiple instances and multiple availability groups, would failing over one availability group affect all instances and availability groups on the same server?
For example, I'm assuming I can't failover Inst1 from ServerA to ServerB without it impacting on Inst2 or Inst3?
Can I use 1 file share witness amongst several different AlwaysOn Availability Groups (and thus multiple WSFCs)?
Thanks
